Money Making Personal Blogs

This has always been a question when I started my first blog. Should I monetize my personal blog or should I not? I have seen many personal blogs with a small ad in a sidebar, showing the ads as if they don’t want to show it to the visitors. There are still some other bloggers who love to show huge ads on their personal blogs.

Personally, if I am asked, I will say that there is nothing to be ashamed of while showing ads on your personal blog. But one things that can be kept in mind is that huge and annoying ads may drive away your traffic. There are many kinds of ads that are not annoying at all. If you have indeed decided to monetize your personal blog, monetize it nicely. No need to be shy while making money. But if you are not comfortable with it, just leave it and never monetize it. Showing a small invisible ad in a corner is not going to make you another great money maker. So, if you wanna monetize, do it whole heartedly. Some blogs like Shoemoney.com is doing that.
